I don't generally find anime I don't like, except if they do a major screw-up of the manga plot or something like that.

At most I would have to say Serial Experiments Lain...it was pretty well made, with nice plot twists and everything, but I didn't like it very much for some reason.

Yup...they seriously messed that one up :uhhuh: Should have just stuck to the manga, which was amazing and where the plot actually makes sense.

One Piece. Hands down. Hate it and can't find a purpose in it. :|

Two animes:

1. Devil Survivor 2: Great example of game-to-anime gone totally wrong. Persona 4 the Animation did a great job of compressing a very lengthy, character-heavy game into a significantly shorter anime series. DeSu2 used an original plot that made hardly any sense. The zero-personality protagonist is unbelievably strong, but does nothing to deserve being so strong; in contrast, his best friends are absolutely useless, believe they're worthless, and totally rely on him. The other secondary characters are given generic archetypal anime personalities so that they can appear in one episode and die in the next. Any personality or development they had in the game was removed; they were only inserted in the anime to act as plot deices and to make it seem like the anime is like the game, when it really isn't.

2. Sword Art Online: Awful, awful plot and characters. It starts with a couple of great episodes that makes it seem like the series will become an epic fantasy adventure in a mysterious, unexplored land. Instead, it's a pseudo-harem romance with a self-insert protagonist who every girl loves for no apparent reason. Kirito, the main character, is a power gamer with no personality. His "girlfriend," Asuna, is a Mary Sue who's introduced as a strong, independent character, but becomes totally reliant on Kirito. She's replaced as Kirito's romantic interest by Kirito's sister, who's madly in love with him. I could just go on and on, but I'll stop here; it's a great example of wasted potential, since so many stories could have made better use of their animation and music resources.

I haven't seen many which I disliked, but I really didn't like Sister Princess and Yumeria.

School Days?
I mean the who series was just weird (though people like it)
I think the only thing that made me happy with the anime was the ending...Kind of :bah:

I don't remember if I replied to this before, but I absolutely hated K. The art and music were wonderful, but the story and characters were just so awful. I don't know how I sat through it and it's one of the reasons I stay away from newer animes (like 2002-present) as much as possible.

The original Hetalia series was pretty awful too, I don't understand how I liked it so much when I was younger. Also, Eden of the East had so much potential and some interesting characters but was just ultimately unentertaining and a waste of time for me.

I don't watch much anime, usually just when my friend livestreams stuff. I convinced her to stream World War Blue once, because it had an interesting-sounding premise (the console wars of the 1990s interpreted as a literal war), and we couldn't even get through the first episode. Even the heroic characters are unlikable, for one thing, and we both found the double entendres and risque jokes to be excessive.

Being a pretty big Ar tonelico fan, I tracked down the OVA based on Melody of Elemia and watched it one night. The music was top-notch as always, and I have no real complaints about the voice acting, but the animation was pretty bad. One example that stands out to me is a crowd scene where the "crowd" is just an unmoving blob of people-shapes. I also happened to find the version with painfully bad subs, so that detracted from my enjoyment a lot.

Well, after three years, it's time to update my list with one big addition: Mirai Nikki. I can't STAND the yandere trope. At all. It romanticizes a kind of obsessiveness/possessiveness/behavior that is NOT okay, and watching just the first few episodes was enough to make me feel sick to my stomach. I admit it's rather strange since I can look at (some) fictional murderers from behind the fourth wall and appreciate them as characters, but there's something all too real about yanderes, and I can't quite look at them from the same, somewhat objective, distance.

Ugh. My skin crawls just thinking about Gasai Yuno.

@WyndiWingfall; I agree about the yandere. I started to watch it b/c it was bloody horror and and all, but I don't think having an obsessive character would have been very appropriate. I need to finish it just to see if I actually did like it. Yuno scared me senseless (I never had a stalker, but that one scene when she just peeks through Yukki's mail slot in the door and said 'Goodnight, Yukki' just scared me). I watch for the plot in most anime I watch.

I have to say Inuyasha.
The voice acting. The animation. The STORYLINE.
It was a mess.

Oh yeah, Yuno is TERRIFYING. I literally jumped at that scene. How people find her behavior romantic is utterly beyond me.
