Warning: This story will contain a darker than usual tone than traditional Pokemon stories. This includes but is not limited to drugs, yaoi, death, murder and the like. If you feel uncomfortable with any of those topics or similar things then please do not read on.

This follows the stories and travels of the participants of the popular RP: Kanto the Journey Begins. There will be numerous points of view and changes to the stories to create a more cohesive storytelling experience. Enjoy.

Chapter 1: The Chosen
KISMET and DANIEL

The warm sunlight of the early morning dappled in to greet the unopened eyes of a trainer to be. A petite body wrapped in a pile of untamed blankets writhed and turned as the weight of sleep was lifted. The girl slowly peeked her head out of the covers revealing turquois eyes which seemed undecided if they wanted to turn completely blue or green. She gave a long yawn before scratching her head covered in thick, short black hair. Young Kismet rose out of the covers, or rather lumbered, and made her way towards the downstairs kitchen of her two story home. Her mother stood at the bottom of the stairs staring intently at her. Kismet scratched her head.

"I know I know, I'm late. I was just too excited to sleep last night." She gave a sheepish smile and earned a smile from her mother who retreated into the kitchen for breakfast. Kismet eagerly followed.

"So any news mom?"

Her mother bent down to pet the family pet, a rather large Purugly. It hissed at Kismet as she approached who in turn hissed back at the cat Pokemon. This got a glare from her mother but she shrugged it off. She went through her apron pulling out a card which had Kismet's name on it and the official seal of the town's professor Samuel Oak. Kismet grew wide eyed.

"It says, 'To the Parents of Kismet Trainer 098-8876
After rigorous testing, your daughter has passed the Viridian City Trainer School's most advanced tests with flying colors. I was notified by one of her professors and my esteemed college Dr. Gemston that she should begin her Pokemon journey right away. I have a Pokedex ready for her and the scanner is primed for the selection process. I'd be pleased if you signed the consent form and sent her over with it as soon as possible.

Best Regards,

Prof. Samuel Oak."

Kismet could barely contain her excitement. It wasn't like her mother to agree to such a dangerous idea so quickly. But there was her mother's signiture at the bottom of the page. Kismet went to reach out for it but it was quickly snatched away.

"Hey!"

"Now then missy. I expect you to call home every night. Don't talk to anyone you don't know. I know Team Rocket is gone and everything but there are still bad people out there. I don't want my Kizzy to get hurt. Please honey, be careful."

Kismet sighed smiling. Of course her mother was still going to be upset over the idea. Professor Oak probably had to call her personally in order to convince her it was the right thing to do.

"I will mom." That was all she could say. Her aquamarine eyes turning emerald in the glittering sunlight of the open kitchen window. She could smell it, the adventure, the dirt... it was all waiting for her.

"You're late."

A voice from behind her startled her but she quickly realized who it was. Daniel sat down next to her having invited himself into the home. It wasn't an uncommon thing for the town of Pallet. Everyone knew everyone so it was safe.

"Ah Daniel, I was just about to call you." Her mother exclaimed.

Kismet blushed, turning away; she always felt wierd around him.

"Yup, I'm here to take Kizzy to the lab. Looks like I'm going too." He held up his own version of the acceptance letter proudly. Kismet gasped, excited she would be sharing this moment with her best freind.

"Well, no time to lose. Later." Kismet sighed. He was always so casual. It was...cool. Suddenly she snapped out of her daze when she realized Daniel was staring back at her. She flushed momentarily.

"You going like that?" He raised an eyebrow. Kismet looked herself over and gave a grin as she realized she was still in her pajamas. "I'll be right out. Don't go without me."

"Wouldn't dream of it." He gave her a wink before dissappearing behind the front door. The young trainer to be dashed upstairs and in a quick second was out the door. The sunlight momentarily blinded her but as her eyes succumbed, the began to take in the sights of Pallet Town. It was home to some of the toughest trainers the world had ever seen like the infamous Red who disappeared a few years ago. It was a well spaced town full of farmlands and tiny houses atop smoothly rolling hills. The weather was quite stable. At the south end was the entrance to an ocean route that lead directly to Cinnabar Island. However, the quaint sights of Pallet town were no longer in her mind as she broke into a run, speeding towards a rather large and impressive building. It was Oak's lab: a large, 1 story complex complete with a titanic backyard housing several Pokemon that the professor studied. Without speaking, both kids made thier way to the front automated sliding doors and came upon a familiar sight.

Professor Oak stood firmly facing the door that Kismet and Daniel had come through. He was waiting for them...

YAMI

Crimson eyes fluttered open. Long eyelashes flicked at the air with every blink. There were clouds above him and the gentle breeze carried the smell of the early morning dew. Yami had dozed off thinking again...about it... He looked at his Poketch and frowned slightly.

Great...I'm late. he thought. For a moment he considered not going at all but mustered his will and got up. He knew he had to in order for everything to be normal again. he need this. Stretching, he could see the sun rising over the horizon for a new day. He had hoped the Lab would not be overcrowded due to a celebrity appearance. Yami grimaced at the path behind him knowing what it meant for him. There was no more hiding anymore and he couldn't stay here. Reluctantly he trudged towards the lab with his head down not noticing the approaching stranger.

The boy bumped into Yami earning a death glare but did not look up as he walked past. "You got a death wish kid?" The kid stopped in his tracks. He had his hands in the pockets of a red blazer and his face was hidden by a combination of his lengthly black hair and the red hat he was wearing. The kid took off his hat and opened up his jacket as he turned around to face Yami. He waved his hair out of his face and walked towards the older boy. Yami blinked. His eyes were the same color as his: a deep red.

The stare down continued for a few seconds before Yami spoke. 'What? You got a staring problem cutie?" His face formed into a smirk as he eyed this kid up and down. He seemed familiar to him. But the boy did not speak, he merely placed a hand on his hip and eyed Yami up and down as if to mock him. Yami's smile dissappeared. "Forget it, I'm already late." With that, Yami left the kid in the dust as he broke into a run.

"Ugh!'" He sighed out loud annoying some of the people waiting. He decided he would just walk past and ignored the "HEYs" and "WAIT YOU TURNs". What did he care anyway. As he opened the doors to the lab, two trainers were already there and walked outside with thier newly aquired pokemon. One of them seemed to strike his interest and so he eyed him. Snapping out of it he approached the Professor who seemed surprised such an older boy was in front of him.

LINDA

"GOODBYE GUYS!!"

"Poli?"

Linda... a formidable human being. She made her way towards the gate of the ranch her parents owned but was ambushed from behind. The unseen attackers tackled her to the ground with all thier weight. There were dozens of them. Linda laughed as she turned around to greet the slimy blue tadpoles. Over the years she had befriended the whole population from a nearby pond and they had followed her into her parent's ranch.

'I'll be back soon I promise." She waved her hand and all the water-types dismounted her back. She stood up promptly and smiled, looking at the sky with high hopes for her future. In the background, the roars of various Dragon types could be heard. Her parents were well known Dragon type breeders especially noted for thier Gible breeding. She hadn't the time for a proper goodbye and instead taped a letter to the back of one of the Poliwags. The other tadpoles gathered around the taped one mesmerized by the paper.

"Take that to mom and dad?" The little water type sat down. It had no arms so it couldn't get the paper off but it tried, squirming and writhing with its eyes wide open. Linda sighed but figured her parents would get it eventually. She grabbed her left arm feeling nothing and raised her sleeve. A metallic shine greeted her eyes. She sighed again rubbing the length of the prostetic. She felt around the backside and pressed a small switch. A slight whirring noise ensued before an inside compartment opened. Inside were 6 spherical impressions meant for Pokeballs. She filled them with the empty ones Oak had given her for completing the trainer exit exams and reclosed the compartment.

She recovered her arm and kissed goodbye to her legion of Poliwags. The curious (and not so intelligent) creatures mimicked her performing kissing motions with thier puffy lips. This seemed to temporarily distract them so Linda took the opportunity and walked out of sight.

"This is it," she said. She was ready to face the world and show it what she was made of. She spotted Oak's lab in the distance and broke into a run. Right before entering the doors, a tall boy with strikingly red eyes stepped out holding a newly acquired Pokeball. He stopped in the doorway for a moment and pushed Linda outside with a huff.

"Hey!" She exclaimed. She wanted to give him a quick rap to the head but retreated backwards into the Lab. Oak was standing there over a peculiar machine waiting for her.

"I take it you skipped the line too?"

"Line?"

Chapter 2: Meet the Pokemon

OAK

Professor Samuel Oak rubbed the back of his head as he removed his reading glasses. He had just finished programming the last of the Pokedexs for the upcoming trainer selection process. Regardless of whether they got a letter of acceptance or not, his lab would be soon swarmed by trainers from all around the world trying to get a starter Pokemon from his revolutionary new machine. He turned his glance over to the pearly white mechanical device and gave it a once over.

A hand scanner on the lower regions would scan the trainer's fingerprints and bring up thier school data. Based on thier tests scores and teacher analysis records, they would be matched with three Pokemon based on thier rough personalities. Above the scanner rested a large 3 piece monitor which would display the Pokemon in a roulette style spin before being revealed. He chuckled as that was always his favorite part. But the laugh quickly faded as the thought of why this was happening sooner than last year's selection process kicked in.

The ring of a videophone startled him for a minute causing him to jump. He hastly made his was over to the device and switched on the feed connecting the two callers. He smiled.

"Well hello Lance." The figure on the other side of the monitor stared hard at the professor with his thickly eyebrowed eyes. The professor gave a grin of embarrasment.

"Oak, we cannot deal with this lightly. They were chosen for a reason. Make sure they are well on thier way when they get there."

"I must admit, I am just not used to this. Fixing the exam scores to pass some of these students and sabatoging others. But if it must be done it must be done. Can you tell me the bigger details now? Surely the Dragon Master of the Indigo leage has nothing to worry about."

Lance sighed on the other end of the phone before cutting off the feed. Oak grimaced and flicked the screen with his fingers but quickly turned around as the first couple trainers entered the lab. Both held up thier acceptance letters but Oak waved them away.

"Kismet, Daniel, so nice to see you. You are late you know. Still, it seems as though you are the first two to arrive. Well, let me get started. Ehem. My name is Professor Oak. We live in a wonderous world full of fantastic creatures called Pokemon." He continued his usual prepared speach but did not dwaddle on it for too long as he knew kids of this generation had short attention spans. After a few minutes of explaining the inner workings of the Pokedex and handing out thier starter Pokeballs, Oak motioned them over to the scanning machine.

He stood there proudly as he began to talk. "Now it is quite simple. Just place your hand over the scanner and three Pokemon will be selected for your choosing. Choose wisely. Kismet, you first."

KISMET

Kismet tentatively moved forward as the professor called her up. Daniel bumped her from behind as if to tell her to hurry but instead caused her to stumble a bit. She smiled and chuckled nerviously at the grey haired professor before placing her hand over the scanner. A blue line of light quickly ran itself over her hand and the three monitors above it began spinning the the various sillouhetts of different Pokemon.

Like a casino slot machine, the three slots started to fill up with the dark sillouetts. BEEP! All three slots filled up with the sillouettes of Pokemon. She leant against the machine with her other hand, her remaining hand still on the scanner. Finally the first slot halted.

"Snivy.." she said, bemused in unison to the automated voice. The third slot slowed down and finally stopped too, a large shadow formed "Tropius?" it was an unusual pokemon, but rather cute at the same time. Her eyes focused on the remaining slide, the middle one ticked slowly and time itself seems to slow as Kismet waiting anxiously before making a big decision. It stopped. "...Electrike?" she smiled as she turned to the Professor,

"That one~" she said confidently. The professor nodded

"Good Choice." He said, as he pressed a few buttons and a red and white pokeball emerged infront of Kismet.

"Press the middle button.." He mused, and she did as he said. Pressing the button lightly, a brilliant red light flashed, and then there was a small green dog-like pokemon, it barked, looking up at Kismet. The Electrike reached the top of her knee. She sat down infront of it and looked at it openly.

" 'lectrike" she called, wanting it to come to her. It approached her slowly, sniffing her shoe and her bag, before finally yipping and crawling onto her lap.

"I think he's warmed up to you, Kismet" She smiled and picked up Electrike in her arms and thanked the prof. She went outside and quickly retreated outside to wait for Daniel. She played with Electrike in the meantime

"Oh, before i forget..." she reached into her bag and pulled out a ribbon with a gold bell on it. "I thought i should buy my very first partner a present..so i got you think, Electrike!" she cooed as she tried to put it around its neck. It sat there awkwardly at first, letting her put it on him, and once that was done, he yipped and tried to kick it off.

" Oh! Sorry Electrike.. Is it itchy?" she said as she took it off, a little dissapointed, but smiled as the dog pokemon barked and ran around her feet. She took the opportunity to try out her new Pokedex.

"Electrike: The Lightning Pokemon. The electricity found in Electrike's body is obtained from the friction that occurs when it runs at incredible speeds. It is stored in its fur, and can be released at the Pokémon's will. This allows it to use moves like Spark from the static electricity found in its fur. It can also learn to wield a Flamethrower attack." Kismet raised an eyebrow. This little dog could do all that?

"Well, I suppose I should name you. But not quite yet. I'd like to figure out your personality first." Suddenly, the woosh of the automated doors to the lab swung open. A tall boy in a white shirt and black pants walked inside as Daniel walked out. He seemed a little old to be getting his first Pokemon but Kismet shugged the thought as she too was a bit older than most first timers.

Daniel's head was held up high and what she assumed was a Pokemon floated from behind him to settle at his side. She flipped out her Pokedex but it was quickly shut by Daniel.

"It's a Baltoy Kizzy. You never seen one?" She shook her head. "Well, they are native to Hoenn and are mostly found in ruins and ancient caverns but recently they have been popping up all over the place. Oak said it may have something to do with all the traveling trainers releasing thier Pokemon."

"Oh wow." She bent down to touch it but it slowly moved backwards.

"Oh don't mind Thoth. Looks like he is a bit shy around the ladies." He winked at Kismet who tried not to blush. Thoth hummed as he floated.

"Thoth huh? What a cute name." She giggled. Daniel raised an eyebrow but didn't say a word. The two knew what to do next and Kismet rose up promptly to start thier journey. As they traveled through to town to Route 1, neighbors sometimes came out of thier houses to wish them goodbye. It was a small town so it was always a tearful day when someone left on thier journey. Electrike happily trotted next to Kismet's side only ever straying to chase after the occassional Pidgey or Ratatta which always got away. Baltoy on the otherhand remained silent as it floated next to its trainer, carefully surveying its surroundings as if anything could happen at any time. Within a few minutes, they were at the entrance of Route 1, one of the only two ways out of the town. It was shouded by large pine trees making a singular winding path that disappeared into the foothills. A rustling in a nearby patch of tall grass startled the lot of them.

YAMI

Yami clutched his newly obtained Pokeball. He glared back at the Professor who seemed bemused that one of the slots had rolled a Goldeen; a highly feminine Pokemon. He didn't wait for a congratulations and merely walked outside but not without bumping into some squirt with a Poliwag stuck to the back of her shirt. He pushed her away with a huff, ignoring her protest and moved on. The other two trainers he had seen as he walked in were in the distance at the beginning of Route 1 with thier Pokemon out.

"A Baltoy and an Electrike. Useless." He raised the pokeball in his hand for a better view before tossing it liesurely into the air. A brilliant white light burst from the spherical projectile before it formed a massive shape. A great craggy creature almost as tall as Yami shook its head and snorted causing a small dust cloud to rise away from its face. A Rhyhorn.

The beast looked warringly at its trainer...no, master. Yami glared right back at the large behemoth. It took a few minutes of this staring contest before the creature finally submitted and bowed. Yami sneared. "Good."

He took out his Pokedex to assess its moveset only to frown at it only knowing two moves at its current age: Horn Attack and Tail Whip. "We will have to change that." The Rhyhorn shuffled around knawing at the ground clueless to its trainer's intentions.

LINDA

Oak motioned her over to the scanner and she eagerly stepped up. Linda thrusted her hand over the scanner and the roulette wheel had begun to turn. The Poliwag, Poni, somehow made it onto her shoulder unbeknowest to the trainer and immediately became mesmerized by the flashing lights.

The first silouette lit up showcasing an Onix. Without waiting for the other two to light up, Linda immediately pressed, with much protest of the professor, the button that would release its Pokeball to her. She smiled at Oak before pressing the central button of her newly acquired Pokeball to get it ready for release.

"WAIT!!" Oak threw his hands in the air and snatched the Pokeball. "Phew. You might want to go outside with this one." Linda huffed in protest but was quickly scooted out the door.

"Hey!" At that moment, Poni fell off her shoulder revealing herself. "Poli?" It was such a derpy little thing. Anything confused the poor dear. Linda swerved around and noticed the tadpole. It sniffed at the Pokeball she had in her hand and unwittingly pushed the release button. The capsule exploded with light sending the Poliwag running away in fear. Linda chuckled not noticing the monolithic form materializing behind her.

"Rooooooooaaaar!!" Nearby flocks of Pidgey flew away in fright as the Rock Snake pokemon stretched. It was newly hatched but still at least 15 feet in length. She gave the Rock type a once over noting how easy it would be for her to travel as she wasn't the most active type of girl around. She placed a finger on her chin as if in deep thought and startled the Onix with her sudden outburst.

'I'll nick you Ollie...its a cute name and it suits you." Ollie nodded in agreement. She looked around outside noticing another Rock type Pokemon that the rude trainer from before had just gotten. She laughed to herself noting how much bigger Ollie was than his Rhyhorn.

"He wouldn't stand a chance." she leered.

Chapter 3: Take 2

CLARA

"STATIC!! USE THUNDERSHOCK!!"

"BEE BEE!!" A yellow and black pokemon stepped out of the tall grass and aimed its horns towards the unwary trainers. It swung its arms as quickly as it could building up static electricity and let loose a blue-white bolt of electricity although it missed horribly. A large eyed girl muscled her way out of the grass as best she could considering her fragile structure and gasped!

"Oh I'm so sorry! I thought you were a Pokemon. I can't see a thing with all this tall grass. The name is Clara." She crinckled her nose as she smiled showcasing the dozens of freckles dotted across her face. She stuck out her hand in a freindly gesture while pushing her Pokemon behind her.

Kismet glared at the girl for a moment before introducing herself and her electric type Electrike. "Umm, okay. That's fine I suppose. Are you a new trainer?"

The girl giggled.

"No silly. I've already got my first badge from Pewter city. I take it you two are new though." Clara brought out her badge case which was hidden in her bag and opened it. Daniel gasped. It was indeed the Boulder Badge from Pewter City a couple downs away. This time Daniel stepped up.

"What are you doing all the way back in Pallet?" He asked in more of an accusing manner than he meant to. Kismet bumped him in the side.

"Oh umm," she felt the hostility and her childhood shyness kicked in. "I uh... was just coming to visit my family." She pressed her index fingers together looking down at the floor.

"Oh sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I was just wondering why you would backtrack." Kismet sighed and decided to sit on a nearby boulder wedged in the ground with Electrike close behind her. Thoth even wandered away not liking the uncomfortable moment that he could psychically feel. 'So you have an Elekid huh?" The girl's smile returned as her Elekid walked from behind her.

"Oh yeah, this is Static."

"Do you have any other Pokemon?" Clara shook her head.

"No offence but from what I heard, Brock's Onix is a Ground Type which are immune to electric attacks."

"He doesn't use that Pokemon anymore. It's too old. He has a bunch of other rock types though like a Boldore."

"Irregardless, how did you beat the ground types."

"Oh, umm... we sorta accidentally activated the fire sprinkler system. Once the ground types were wet enough, the water allowed the electricity to conduct itself through." Suddenly she threw he eyes onto her Poketch.

"Oh no! We are late. C'mon Static!"

"Bee bee." The elekid said with a salute and ran off with her leaving Kismet and Daniel scratching thier heads.

"What a strange girl."

YAMI

A large rhinocerous-like creature collapsed on the floor next to its master completely exhausted from the day's training. Yami had driven the poor beast hard but in the process learned two new moves: Stomp and Fury Attack. Without so much as a breath of acknowledgment, the abusive trainer recalled his Pokemon and made his way back towards the lab. Night was falling and he couldn't make a trip through Route 1 at this time. He would have to make an encampment in the down somewhere. But first, he needed to heal his Rhyhorn. As he approached the lab, he was struck by something on his right leg.

"Ow!" he exclaimed and looked down to find a very rare Pokemon next to him. Without taking out his Pokedex, he knew what it was. A bright red, head-tuffed monkey lay on its bottom having ran into his leg and fell over. It was clutching its face in pain. But Yami was not the compassionate type and kicked the Pansear. The Fire-Type squealed in pain and it rolled over, this time grabbing its stomach. Yami pulled out a Pokeball in an attempt to capture it but was quickly stopped by Rhyhorn who had silently let itself out.

"What do you want beast, I'm in the middle of a..." He paused as he realized his Pokemon was pointing at something, something behind the fire monkey. He stared hard into the darkness and just barely made it out. It was a trainer, female by the look of it and she was running his way. No doubt the monkey belonged to her. Yami sighed and put his spare Pokeball back onto his hilt next to Rhyhorn's. He was now suddenly very aggitated and annoyed with this girl.

"Wait WAIT!! He is mine. huff huff." The girl arrived out of breath and doubled over grabbing her legs for support as she caught it. She rose slowly, only illuminated the the soft ember glow of the now agrivated Pansear who was heating up its tuft. As she steadied herself, her features became clear. Her light brown hair cascaded in gentle curls falling just above her shoulders. She was petite in frame but seasoned it seemed as well which judging by her attire, she had come from a hard working family. She wore plain blue genes and a style of shirt not native to Kanto so she must have been from another region. Perhaps her most striking features were her light, almost white blue eyes; so empty and at the same time, so full of life.

"I'm sorry is Caefawn caused any trouble. He just likes wandering off at night." From the corner of his eye, he saw the fire monkey prepare an attack and within a milisecond, he was dodging an Ember attack. The girl gasped.

"Caefawn!" She scolded, however the little Pansear wanted nothing to do with the girl it seemed and instead retreated into its Pokeball pressing the button itself. The girl sighed and wiped her brow, sweaty from running after the creature.

"Again, I'm sorry. Caefawn has a tendency to be a bit... finicky around strangers. Although, I've never seen someone dodge an attack of his so quickly. How did you do that?" Yami remained quiet. His Rhyhorn, seemingly better but still roughed up, trudged from around its trainer and sniffed the stranger.

"Oh, right. How rude of me. My name is Sammiya." Her voice was soft, almost seeming to tremble as she spoke. He couldn't see through the darkness but she was blushing. Truth was, the girl had been following him since she got her starter. She tentatively raised her hand in a greeting manner. Yami merely looked at the hand and turned around.

"Oh wait! Are you going to camp out here for the night? I'm sure my parents wouldn't mind you staying. We have a berry farm just down the road." Yami stopped. It was true she was annoying him, but he wouldn't pass up a free bed and meal. He slowly turned around not looking at her.

"The name's Yami" his voice was as cold as a winter gust. "I'll take you up on that offer I suppose." Rhydon's stony ears perked up, or at least they would if they could. It didn't sense kindness in its master but was reluctant to go against his wishes either way.

"Rhyhorn..."

"No need, he can stay outside with Caefawn tonight. I find that Pokemon prefer to be outside of thier Pokeballs more often than not. Especially in the case with Caefawn." The red monkey's pokeball shook warningly and Sammiya clutched it. She looked back up and saw that Yami had already begun walking in the direction of her house.

"Oh...wait please?" She wasn't quite sure what to say. Then again, when it came to guys, she was always at a loss for words. She took a breath before calling her parents on her Pokegear and running to catch up with the boy she had just met.

"They said it was alright, but you have to sleep on the couch."

"I don't mind," It was true as more often than not, Yami found himself on the cold, hard earth outside somewhere. Eventually they made it to the farm. It was more simple than Yami had expected: a single one story house with an Italian vinyard style garden around it growing various basic berries. A Panpour and Pansage approached the gate to greet them and Caefawn let himself out of his Pokeball to associate. Sammiya noticed the inquiring look on Yami's face.

"They help us with cultivating the berries. Saga the Pansage is the first one on the field in the mornings using Growth on all of the plants to help produce bigger berries and boost thier nutrients. That Panpour over there is named Haku and he is responsible for watering all of the plants. We of course pick the berries and give them to Caefawn over there to roast before making them into pies." Yami was at best uninterested in her tale of horticulture and more on that her family had three very rare Pokemon in thier posession.

The evening passed rather quickly and sleep fell upon the travelers just as fast. That is except for Yami. He lay awake on the floor of thier living room looking up at the cieling thinking about his goal.

I will find you

oooh loved the new addition with Sammiya and Yami!
Was the berry thing canon, or did you add that in? I like the idea of the whole Pan family getting in and assisting, it seems really close knit! <3

ooh..Yami will find whooo?

Well, Sammiya's original profile stated her family moved to Kanto to plant berries after her father lost his job at Silph Co. They used to live in Johto. So I figured, since she had a Pansear who is known for roasting berries and her family owns a berry farm, why not have the other two of the trio?

Ah~ The berry thing was cannon. But, to be a little bit more detailed, Sammiya was born in Blackthorn City, her father was transferred to Saffron City, and then they moved to Pallet Town after her father was laid off.

But, it's a really cute idea to have the two other panmon~ I really like that addition to it~

Sorry for not writing in a while. And yes Spesh, Ill be definately using that. I am going to follow one group at a time with each chapter.

Ehem

Chapter 4:

KISMET AND DANIEL

It had nearly taken the entire day in order to reach the foothills of the famed Mt. Hideaway. An impressive peak and lone mountain, it seemed like the jutted broken bone of the earth having barely any incline leading up to the mountain itself. The road before them actually split into three all named Route 1 but with a subtle text underneith on the signs. Kismet read them out aloud.

"Hmm, looks like Viridian City is the straightest path going north and these two roads extend towards the West and lead to a place called the Xanadu Nursery and Mt. Hideaway." Daniel cocked his head sideways. "What?"

"How did you know the directions?" Kismet smiled and sarcastically pointed towards the sun that was setting off in the distance. Daniel still didn't quite get it so she explained.

"You see, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. It is actually common knowledge. I'm surprised you didn't learn this in the academy." She paused to giggle. "Since the road is leading towards the setting sun, its obvious that they are heading west." Daniel rubbed the back of his head and smiled sheepishly.

"I guess I skipped that lesson. So... where do we go from here?" Before Kismet could answer, the ground shook ever so slightly but just enough for both of them to feel it.

"What was that?" She asked. Daniel shrugged. Suddenly the earth benieth thier feet gave way. With instinctive reflexes, the duo jumped on either side of the fissure. Daniel barely caught the ledge, hanging on for dear life. Kismet shrieked, making it to the other side with ease but realizing her comrade was about to fall. "ELECTRIKE!! I NEED YOU!" She tossed up her Pokeball while running to grab Daniel just in time before his fingers slipped. The electric type yipped about for a minute oblivious to what was happening but a grunt from Kismet alerted her canine friend. He quickly responded running at full speed towards his trainer. Suddenly the ground beneith them both gave way and Kismet and Daniel were well on thier way to falling. At the last possible second, Electrike nabbed the back of Kismet's shirt in his mouth and pulled. They were now in teetering dangerously off the edge.

"Electrike, use your electricity. Channel it to your legs." Unbeknowest to her, the young starter could barely cause a spark let alone redirect it. As they teetered further and further, things seemed to go in slow motion. The fissure had stopped opening but as she gazed down, she knew the fall would kill the three of them. She closed her eyes and held onto Daniel. She could feel her Pokemon's soft paw pads desperately trying to grip the loose earth but it was no use. As they fell, everthing seemed quiet... All she could hear was the soothing rush of wind. She closed her eyes.

With a hard thud, she remained motionless. For a moment, she thought she was dead, suspended in some afterlife until the soft wet kisses of her Pokemon made her open her eyes. She looked around and it seemed they were actually falling... upwards. Sure enough she was on the rocky bottom of the fissure, or so she thought. The floor of the hole rose to the very top of the opening spilling the trio on the western side of it. At last she got a good look at what she was looking at. It was an Onix, but it was huge. Granted Onix were big, some 28 feet but this one nearly doubled that length. It was full of scrapes and parts of its rocky hide was chipped deeply. It looked very worn.

"You three alright?" Electrike yiped at the sound, his hair raising on end as he turned to see the source of the voice. Kismet too turned around helping Daniel to his feet. He thanked her with his eyes. "I said, are you okay?"

They came upon the view of a largely built man. He was shirtless wearing a pair of ragged tanned pants tied together with a strip of black cloth. His hair was just as if not more wild than his overall appearance. He furrowed his brow and sighed a big hmph before turning around, apparently upset with the three.

"Electrike return." The yellow pokemon was quickly withdrawn. "Um, hi? And thank you. Who are you?" Daniel stopped her from approaching.

"I guess it's my turn to show you what you missed in class." he joked. "This is Bruno. He was a member of both the Johto and Kanto Elite 4 Kismet." Bruno turned around. He wasn't smiling by any means but seemed a lot less tense. Daniel pressed his hand to his forehead and laughed. He couldn't believe it. A Kanto legend right in front of him. And of course his Onix was no less spectacular than its trainer. It was indeed a Giant Onix only found in the areas around Mt. Hideaway. Bruno spoke.

"Looks like the ground gave way over an old Onix tunnel. You would-be trainers should probably be more careful." Daniel steamed, his admiration gone and replaced with annoyance. "Thanks for saving us but we aren't would be trainers." At that exact moment, he was knocked clear off his feet and into the ground. His backpack burst open, its contents spilling on the floor. Daniel rubbed his head as Kismet laughed.

"What'd you do that for!?" he yelled at Bruno. Bruno merely pointed behind the boy. A small Pokemon hovered directly above him making no sound whatsoever. It looked at the boy and floated down to face level as Daniel sat up. Its entire body was a mud brown color and its back was adorned with very rough looking wings that didn't seem to move while it floated. It eyes looked nearly hollow staring into Daniel's. The most notable feature however was a completely seperated floating object above its head that seemed very similar to a halo.

"What is it?" Kismet asked. Daniel blinked bringing out his Pokedex.

"Shedinja, the Shed Pokemon. Shedinja is the direct result of an evolving Nincada. As its shell is discarded, it somehow reanimated itself into a hollow husk. It possesses no internal organs and is known to appear at random in a trainer's party on rare occassions without ever being caught. They are very mysterious Pokemon and little is known about them. It is commonly said in Hoenn that if you peer into the hole in its back, it will steal your soul."

The bug type let out a noise for the first time. A sort of high pitched squeal that Daniel guessed was it expressing interest in something. It quickly darted towards the contents of his bag now splayed on the floor. Everyone watched in interest as it picked through the remains.

"Hey!" Daniel said but he was quickly stopped by Bruno. The Shedinja found a Pokeball and squealed. It pressed the button itself and unwittingly let out Thoth. The equally odd Pokemon merely glanced at the Bug type with disinterest before floating to investigate the giant Onix. Daniel sighed. The Shedinja quickly found the other Pokeballs and let itself into them all before releasing itself. Somehow, it grabbed one and floated towards Daniel, dropping it into his hand. Daniel gave a puzzled look.

"Looks like this Shedinja was shed off a trainer's Nincada somewhere around here. Unfortunately there wasn't a spare Pokeball in his party so it wandered away looking for one. I think it wants you to catch it." Bruno spoke. Daniel glanced back at the Ghost type with the Pokeball in his hand. Without a word, the Shedinja pressed the button on its own accord. The ball shook only once before the ping signifying capture rang out.

"Looks like you caught your first Pokemon....sorta." Kismet laughed.
