If "so-and-so 101" is the typical introductory class in a subject, then what comes next? 201? 102? Something else? I'm doing a little fictional thing, but I just can't figure out how to number it. Surprisingly hard to google any helpful information on this.

Hello question from a month ago! Typically university/college course codes look something like:
ELEC1112 - Electrical Circuits
ELEC2133 - Analogue Electronics

In the above case the first four letters indicate the area of study:
ELEC - Electrical
ECON - Economics
ACCT - Accounting
Then the four digit code where the first digit indicates the year the course should be taken in. So 1112 would be a first year subject, 2133 would be a second year subject.

Well, I get that's how courses are labeled in the database, but that's not quite what I was asking about.

Thanks for answering though.
