The air around Ventus grew relaxed. The wind playfully tussled the leaves and his hair causing a slight whispering sound as if the forest was trying to respond to him through its own music. It soon became apparent that someone within enjoyed the music as well. A Scraggy, perhaps the one from before had followed the sound. It was unusual for them to appreciate something like this as their thick cranium didn't leave much room for anything else other than the need to Headbutt everything. Still, it melodically swayed to the tune, watching Ventus from behind the cover of a bush as to not be discovered but more so to make sure he did not interrupt the boy's song. After a few minutes however, it could not keep itself from its own curiosity and ventured towards the boy trying not to appear threatening and pulling up its protective skin just in case. It made a squeak to alert the trainer of its presence.

Ventus paused as there was a rustling that disturbed his concentration. It was followed by a squeak, and the sooty male glanced down to see a Scraggy. "Huh..." He seemed to attract this species a lot. It was bobbing its head slightly, enjoying the music that was just played. He smiled and sat down on the soft grass. The yellow pokemon scurried backwards out of confusion as to what the lumbering human was doing, but hung around a little. "Scrag!" It squeaked, peeking from behind its stretchy pokemon pants. Ventus chuckled slightly, and placed the flute in his lap. He was looking for a fight, but he was no bully. This scraggy was clearly young. "Hey, come here." He said, but there was another rustle - a frantic rustle. A larger Scraggy appeared, and it looked worried. It scooped up the smaller scraggy, who was quite happy to see him. Big Brother Scraggy? He looked tough. "Hah! Hey, we were just talking." Ventus flicked the hair out of his face, and the Big Bro Scraggy glared at him, placing the smaller one back on the ground and pushing him behind him.

The older scraggy lowered his head and rushed at the larger human, what was he trying to prove? He smacked into Venny's shin, which was quite painful! "Yow!" He winced and grasped his leg, if he were standing, he was sure to have collapsed from that. "Go Leafie!" He announced to no one in particular, and the firey pokemon emerged in a puff of ash. "Toooor!" It fluffed and nestled slightly into its plush downy feathers. "Leafie, use scratch!" She tilted her head, and registered the command. She ran forward on her little chicken legs and furiously scratched at the tough Scraggy's head. It held its paws up to try and shield itself before it retaliated by kicking up sand from all around them. A dirty Sand-Attack! "Torrr!" She cried, and shook her head, sand falling everywhere. It was caked into her feathers and made her rather gritty in appearance. "Ember!" Ventus called out next, now on his feet. He was getting pumped for a real battle. The torchic, although partially blinded, spat bolts of fire in the general direction of the Big Brother Scraggy, which was also where Lil Bro Scraggy was standing. He was singed on his tail and ran around comically in a circle, before splashing into a puddle nearby.

Big Bro Scraggy growled angrily, watching his brother flail about. He really needed to take his brother home now, but this Torchic was a pain in the behind. He had to escape, quickly. The larger scraggy rushed up to Torchic and tucked his body under him, swinging his leg out under the Torchic in one fell swoop - A low kick! It toppled the bird pokemon over, and with that fleeting moment, he took his chance to collect his brother and flee the human and his pokemon.

It all happened so fast, one moment he was sure he was winning, next moment both Scraggies are gone. Leafie lay flat on her stomache on the ground, rolling around in the sand. "You're a strange one Leafie." He noted, and promptly returned her to her pokeball. He gathered his flute and decided to go hunt for a pokemon to fight. The gym was a status gym, and the only pokemon who could inflict their own statuses were Leafie with burn, and Frizelbliz with paralysis. So, Torchic has had her battle, now the mutt needed some training too.

If it weren't for the heaving gasps of breath from the trainer, the nurse may not have noticed her. She quickly hiccuped in surprise and called for a few Chansey. The bubbly creature brought out a stretcher and went to work as they pulled the Skiddo into the Emergency Care room, the light above turning on signifying that it was occupied. The nurse approached Lyra a few minutes later with a clipboard.

"Thank you for bringing him to us Miss Lyra." As she said her name, she focused on the clipboard which probably showed all of her trainer information. "Where did you find it?" She sat down on a series of couches looking across to Lyra as she explained her story and the Skiddo. In the midst of the story came a crash and a few panicked Chansey ran out of the ER pulling the nurse into the room. Apparently the Skiddo had woken up and begun attacking its handlers.

"CHANSEY!!" Almost commically, a large Chansey came running at full speed towards the ER with a syringe in hand no doubt full of sedatives. It only took a few seconds for the clamor to stop and the weathered nurse to reappear hair out of place. "Well if he isn't the energetic one." She huffed a bit before resuming her conversation with Lyra and collecting any residual data. "It looks like he is going to be okay but we want to keep him overnight for observation."

After some practice, Magby was able to finally reach Shroomish for the attack, though now this presented a problem. Since Shroomish knew what it was trying, the pokemon was alert and Magby missed all of his attack attempts. Caesar sighed, one part of the move was done, now they had to go for the second one. Caesar checked his pokedex to find a clue of why Magby was failing and after reading the move's description, he found the reason, Feint Attack was a deceptivemove, and its succes was greatly based on the user'sability to decieve the foe that it was not going to attack. The trainer looked back at Teddiursa thinking, the bears Naughty and mischievous nature made it easy forhim to master the move, Magby on the other side was not going to master it that easy.

Caesar called Teddiursa for help once more "Teddiursa, now I need you to teach Magby how to trick the foe to think you won't attack" he explained "I know it is easy for you, but show Magby how" he ended. Teddiursa sighed, it was not going to be easy but he agreed. The bear took Magby's position against Shroomish, starting chatting with the mushroom pokemon, distracting him before using the move to appear behind him to attack, much to Shroomish's frightening. Caesar smiled, that was just what Magby needed, now it depended on Magby to learn how to do the same thing. "go Magby, try out yourself" Caesar called, magby nodded and prepared to decieve Shroomish, hopefully he'd succeed... hopefully.

Lyra nodded in response to the nurse's assessment. There wasn't much she could do at this point. The Skiddo would eventually be healed, and when it was, she could still attempt asking it to join her team. The idea of having a Pokemon to ride around seemed much more attractive than the alternative. The nurse informed her of how rare this kind of Pokemon was in the region. This only made her want it more. She released Dewey and scolded him for his previous actions. He took no notice to her anger and pretending like nothing ever happened. Lyra peeked out a window, noticing that it was almost night. "Nurse, I am allowed to sleep here, right?" she asked, "I mean, there's no way I'm gonna go out into the middle of the woods in the middle of the night." The girl reclined and began laying down before she could get an answer. Truthfully, the excitement of the day and the encounter with the Skiddo really tired her out.

What he did was working. Yes.. If he could keep this up for a while, the Alakazam would be defeated in no time. Let's see what just happened a couple of second ago. It seems, without its spoons, the Alakazam is unable to focus much. And that's good. It also seemed like it couldn't react fast enough to remake the barrier. Ok, that's another good thing. That means he didn't need to switch to his Lampent, as Lampent was slow. Though, hopefully disable runs out of time quickly. Pursuit would be really helpful just in case it tried to get its spoons.

Hopefully, this would work a second time, and hopefully the Scyther won't hurt the wrong person. Actually, throughout this battle he hasn't at all. Probably because it wanted to fight this powerful enemy. Yeah, that would make sense. It was his second pokemon, though it was the most inpatient of the whole group. The boy smiled at the big mantis. It didn't turn back its head. What a meanie. Wait, aren't you forgetting something? Oh, right battle.

The boy clenched his fist hard, creating a small cracking noise and pointed to the Alakazam and shouted "Let's do this again, Zyllo! Quick Attack and Leer!"

The grasses of the wooded area remained still even with the persistent whistling of the winds above. In the distance was an old cave passage which echoed from the numerous shrieks of Zubat that now inhabited it. For now, there were no Pokemon near Ventus. Perhaps the Big Bro Scraggy had notified everyone of his location. There was, however, a trainer wandering about. He looked to be about Ventus's age but had a bit more facial hair. His rough, outward appearance and bandanna gave him the vague look of a pirate. It didn't help that he also sported a earing on his left ear and what seemed to be eyeliner? Suddenly he spotted Ventus.

"Ey, you! Know where all the Pokemon have gone?" His accent was most definitely foreign but still familiar. A sort of eloquent elegance. He didn't wait for a response and half a breath later spoke again. "Wanna battle mate?" His rough exterior was clearly showing now. He was easily bored and spared no time in anything. He tossed what seemed to be a Dusk Ball. In a cloud of dark vortexes, a strange creature emerged. It staggered about. Its orange body was adorned with a leafy looking top. Upon closer inspection, the face of the creature was the stem of this gourd.

"I found it wanderin' about the cave back there. I dunno what it is but I figured I'd try it out." The creature itself seemed alien. (a pumpkaboo, remember that these things don't exist yet for an unknown reason.)

The series of attacks were successful. With the Alakazam being caught off guard, the Leer also worked. However, the games would not last very long. Now on its knees from the barrage of attacks, the Psychic type heaved forward catching itself with its hands. As the Scyther came in for a finishing move it focused what little energy it had left to create a Psychic blast, a wall of pure mental energy that would surely destroy the mantis. However, Alakazam would not live to see if it had worked. The frail Pokemon used all of its energy almost seemingly in vain for this? It crumbled onto the ground eventually relaxing in a fetal position. After a few moments, its body withered and turned to dust. It was gone.

Manta and ditto watched as each icy shot was launched. To Manta's surprise, they hit a lot better than his previous attempt with his vulpix. This had him thinking. Although ditto had copied vulpix, it was itself stronger than vulpix. It was strange how the two pokemon differed in fighting style as well. Manta loked forward, contemplating his next move. He had to keep it close to how ditto manages things. Observing the flight patterns of vespiquen led Manta to believe that some damage had come to its body that affected balance. Manta could hear an attack being called. Air slash? Manta had seen this move before, but couldn't think of a way to counter it.

"D-ditto, quick attack!" Ditto's muscles tensed as it man forward, trying to dodge the almost invisible blades of wind. Its speed was not as good as his vulpix, but ditto had already gotten used to the new body. It danced around the wind, trying to evade it. Twice, Ditto dodged the blades of wind, but could not evade the third. Ditto was launched backward to the ground. Ditto shook to remove the excess dirt accumulated and got up, just a little more serious now. "You okay, ditto?" Ditto shook his head in certanty. "Alright. Our turn again! Ember!" Ditto opened its mouth and pointed it upward. a dark red glow came from its mouth as it charged up, soon releasing dozens of small flames from its mouth. Some flames gathered as they were launched, forming slightly larger flames. Manta noticed again how many more were produced by ditto compared to vulpix.

Making eye contact with the Cyndaquil, Ryan knew that this Pokemon, only this one, would help him start his journey. The Cyndaquil leaps out of Ryan's palms and begins to scurry all around Ryan climbing him like a wall. Ryan leaked a giggle as Cyndaquil sniffed and gave him little licks as it passed through his body. Cyndaquil dived into Ryan's shirt and came out through the top of his shirt by his shoulder. The Cyndaquil then perched itself on Ryan's shoulder trying to find a comforatable position. Just then, Ryan slowly grabbed Cyndaquil from it's stomach and held it in his hands to get a better look at it. There was a small flame on a crack in the Cyndaquil's back. At first, Ryan thought it was an injury, but all of these years of Pokemon research Ryan new better. Ryan very carefully scratched the creature's back and the flame burned brighter, in fear, Ryan almost dropped the Cyndaquil but thought over it realizing that the flame didn't hurt him. "The Cyndaquil can control when the flame hurts or not"Professor Birch states as he slowly attempts to rise out of his seat. He stumbles to his feet, and even standing up he looks like he can collapse any second.
Wobbling over to Ryan the Cyndaquil dives onto Ryan's head and uses his great amount of hair as a shelter. Cyndaquil tightens his grip on two handfuls of hair, but Ryan doesn't care. The Professor hands Ryan over a Trainer's ID, and a Pokedex. Ryan places both in his pocket making his pants look bulky. Professor Birch cracks a weak smile then says, "What are you waiting for? Go ahead and begin your Pokemon journey! Also, you goal is-""To fill in your Pokedex for further researcha bout the Pokemon world" Ryan cuts in. Ryan's mother already told him everything and the goal he was supposed to fulfill, but his real goal was to become a Pokemon Champion, then finally avenge his father.
Ryan hustled out the door exited about his new found journey and new adventure that awaits him. He returns to the Welcome door mat, from inside the building he could he hear the Professor yell "Good Luck!". Good luck on your research, Ryan thought. With the Cyndaquil still in his hair, Ryan began to pace himself so he can enjoy this pathway before leaving. The pathway that lead to the lab, you will always need shoes with good grip or you would feel like you are in an ice hockey rink. Ryan began to tussle around and mess and play with Cyndaquil just so they can see what each other are like and get to know each other more. There is a main path that is concrete and leads to the rich kid's houses, along that road there is a dirt path very slim, but widens up when you enter, if you blink you will miss it. Entering the dirt path it was like a path that people take to exercise. The trees rise above and beyond the sky giving you a very cracked and slim view of the sky itself. As he walks deeper into the forest he sees more color from flowers, a very old creek that he used to play at a lot as a kid, then the songs. The bird songs. The same songs that he grew up with his entire life. Songs passed on from generation to generation. Ryan loved them. The way it was so magestic and how effortless they sang it. That was his welcome home.
Halfway through the forest Ryan decided he needed to show his mother his brand new Pokemon! He was exited about this thought but he wanted to know more about Cyndaquil. After quickly scanning up and down through his Trainer ID, he decided to take a peek at the Pokedex. He opened up the Pokedex and a small piece of paper fell out, Ryan didn't notice it, but Cyndaquil did. Cyndaquil jumps off of Ryan's head and retrieves the paper. Ryan recireves the paper from the Cyndaquil and thanks it. Cyndaquil climbs up Ryans leg and sits on top of Ryan's head again. Reading the paper it was all of the moves that Cyndaquil knows so-far. One of tem being Tackle, and the other one being leer. " We will go over these in our free time " Ryan reassures Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil leaps off of Ryan's head again and stops Ryan by standing in from of him. Ryan was suprised at Cyndaquil's intellegence but listened. Cyndaquil kept making noises while pointing at him then at the Pokedex, then sat down. Ryan got the message and pointed the Pokedex's camrea at Cyndaquil. The Pokedex than said:

Image

Cyndaquil

The Fire Mouse Pokemon
Cyndaquil is usueally the timid type by nature and curls up into a ball when intimitated. Its eyes are usually shut and it has a long, and thin snout. It doesn't have claws on its forelimbs, but has a single claw on each hind foot.
This Cyndaquil contains the ability Flash Fire. Flash Fire is the ability when another Pokemon strikes this Pokemon with fire the Cyndaquil is able to absorb the fire and become stronger.

"Wow!" Ryan says in suprise. He didn't know that this Pokemon was cabable of doing that! Throwing down his arm he uses his arm as a bridge for Cyndaquil to climb back onto his shoulder or head. "Hold on to my jacket Cyndaquil. I have to rush home to show mom what an amazing Pokemon I got!" Cyndaquil grabs onto Ryan's jacket with joy and holds on tight. Cyndaquil screeches saying that it is ready and Ryan begins running. Ryan can see the end of the forest by now, and even a peak of the corner of his house! With exitement Ryan begins sprinting, but a red and white object comes flying at Ryan. Straight towards the head. Ryan collapses to the ground and the gravel scratches his face, knees, and arms. Cyndaquil holds on to Ryan's hair like it is crashing a sleigh. Cyndaquil whimpers and stands on Ryan's head in worry, guarding him. Ryan could here another voice that shouted "Oh my goodness! Are you okay Mister?" That was all Ryan heard before blacking out.

The flames proved too fast for the downed insect and in an instant, it was nothing more than a twitching husk on the floor. Venema didn't even seem to react. She simply redirected the Vespiquen's Pokeball towards it and recalled the bee. She breathed out, orange goggles still plastered to her face. She took the time to wipe them clean from the dust cloud and then re-positioned them to the top of her head.

"The only reason you beat her was because of all the battles she endured today." She said it mockingly but she knew she was right. The numerous battles throughout the day would tire anyone. However, she wasn't about to lose. Not many people got to get this far. She laughed at the impending doom of her opponent.

"Let's see..." She said fingering the Pokeballs around her belt. Her nails made a terrible screeching noise, even peeling the paint off of a couple. "What do you feel like? Paralysis? Oh how about a little frostbite?" The waited for the trainer to make a decision as to who the next opponent might be.

A thin little kid with a backwards blue baseball cap scurried over and past the trainer. He wasn't concerned about the trainer, it was something else. Upon further inspection of the projectile, one could deduce that it was just a toy Pokeball. The manufacturer's name was well known and displayed on the top of it. The kid was a bit passed Ryan hunched over around something. It was a Weedle who seemed a bit frightened.

"You could have hurt him!" The boy shouted. Apparently Ryan was too busy playing with his Cyndaquil, he didn't notice that he had almost stepped on the poor Weedle. The kid was clearly watching and expertly diverted the trainer by striking him in the face with a toy before he did any damage. "Watch where you're going!"

The boy was coddling the Weedle at this point who cowered in his arms. It occasionally let out a squeak.

It was an honest accident, Ryan thought. Right before the boy stormed off, he saw a small card laying on the dirt floor. He picked up the Trainer ID card then compared it to Ryan looking back and forth between the picture and Ryan. "And you call yourself a Pokemon Trainer!?" The child blurts as he flicks the card at Ryan. Catching it in mid-air Ryan never realized that he could have killed a Pokemon. Slightly dis-heartned by this thought Ryan slowly uses the tree as a crutch to get up. The child gives Ryan another glare before dissapearing back into the mystery of the forest itself. After finally standing up, Cyndaquil perches on top of Ryan's head and lets out a small squeak.
Ryan kept on thinking of ways he could have said sorry to the child, even though he would probably never see him again, or the Weedle. Guilt was washing over Ryan like a flood. Cyndaquil could notic Ryan's sadness. Cyndaquil leaps behind Ryan and uses it's tackle attack on Ryan's butt. Suprised yet guilty, he realized that the Cyndaquil was either trying to tell him to cheer up, or hurry up. Either wau, Ryan did both as he stepped out of the small forest and could see his house at the edge of the forest. Walking into the door with a key under the welcome-mat, Ryan hides Cyndaquil into his jacket to suprise his mother. Ryan slaps on a sad and depressed face when he sees his mom. The mother immidiently says, "What is wrong? Did you get your Pokemon?". Ryan nods no to the last question and the mom comes running to hug Ryan. "But..." Ryan continued "All I got was a weird creature" Ryan lets out a smirk as he opens up his jacket to reveal the Fire Mouse. Ryan's mom's eyes glittered, "What a cutie! Does it have name?" Ryan didn't want to give it a nickname so he just said it's real name, Cyndaquil. After about 10 minutes of pure He is so cute! Ryan decided it was time to go. The mother went upstairs and came back with a small bag, "Tadaa!" She sings as she hands over Ryan's new backpack. It was already packed with snacks, clothes, untensils, basically anything you need to go on a camping trip. Then lastly, gives Ryan a new belt with six empty Pokeballs. Another 30 minutes pass full of more I will miss you! and Take care! Before Ryan left.
Though it was hard to leave her mother all alone at home, he needed to begin his journey. It didn't help that here wasn't a lot of pathways to go, there was a maximum of one single pathway to get to Oldale Town. Ryan needed to use his map for that. All Ryan knows is that the next town in miles away, and it could take him all day! Taking his first step into this forest was a big change for Ryan. Thank goodness his mother packed one of those for him!
There was no bird singing, no colorful flowers, all he saw was green weeds, green grass, and green trees. This would take some getting used to, Ryan thought. He had only gone into the forest fifty yards before the sunlight from the entrance wasn't visible, and the only light was light that cracked through the roof of trees, therefore, it was quite dim. Cyndaquil was fine. In fact, Cyndaquil knew if would be a long trip. So it climbed into one of Ryan's pockets, and curled into a ball so it could take a fine nap. Before it could even shut it's eyes for ten seconds, Ryan could hear something. Either a person or a Pokemon. Ryan couldn't tell. But it sounded initimidating. Ryan didn't care. He was ready for whatever was thrown at him.

"Thank you very much!" Fauna said, picking the Cyndaquil up and carrying it with her as she continued along the route towards Rusturf tunnel. Once she found a nice enough spot she decided to sit down under a tree and scan Cyndaquil with her pokedex. It was actually a pretty interesting pokemon despite being -god forbid- a fire type. Fauna didn't feel very safe having a pokemon that could create a mane of fire whenever it was scared, but she knew that in order to grow as a person she needed to befriend it. The girl had captured it in one of her spare pokeballs and put the ball in her bag.

"I think it's time to finish training Lombre's Fury Swipes." She thought out loud, and pulled out the Safari Ball and tossed it. Lombre emerged and stretched. He looked a lot happier ever since the contest, as if it boosted his confidence.
"Lom lom!" He called out, smiling at Fauna.
"Hello Lombre, we're going to train your new move so let's look for a pokemon!" She said excitedly.

Ventus grew a little dissapointed as it seemed all the pokemon had fled the area - did that Older Scraggy warn them? Disgruntled, the male kicked the ground and patted himself down from the dust that settled on his clothes. How was he meant to get stronger if there wasn't anything around?! The Rustboro Gym was a status gym, he really needed Leafie to up her game, she was his best fighter but...

He saw a male also looking around, he looked rather outlandish and within moments, there was a pumpkin before him. The sooty haired male stared at it, trying to figure out why the boy had summoned a vegetable. It squeaked "Pumpka!" and with that, Ventus immediately grasped for Leafie's pokeball and released her. "Whoa whoa, Careful Leafie! That...I have no idea what that is. Be ready for anything." He stated to the chicken pokemon. It fluffed its body up and shrilled cheerfully, it didn't seemed threatened by the vegetable pokemon.

"What is that?!" Ventus asked the outlander quickly, He thought he had at least heard of every pokemon. A new species?? Leafie the Torchic finally saw her opponent and flattened her downy feathers, she was ready to fight now.

Caesar watched Magby trying -unseccesfully- to decieve Shroomish one time after the other. When it appeared as if the pokemon was completely fooled, it was Shroomish the one that played Magby and surprised him by dodging his attacks. Caesar walked to the now tired fire pokemon "Magby... why don't you try to fool your opponent in other way?Maybe you could try to mimic you'll use other attack or maybe even walk away from them before youlaunch your atatck, that would work as well" he explained. Magby heard carefully, this thing about learning how to decieve was the hardest part of the move.

The pokemon stopped practicing for some time so Magby could recover his energies, and while he rested, Teddiursa walked overto him, giving somet ips on how to proceed. After a few minutes of rest and talking to Teddiursa, Magby seemed more comefortable. "alright, let's continue" called Caesar. Both Magby and Shroomish nodded and took their positions, as before Magby tried to distract Shroomish by chatting with him, but since the mushroom pokemon was already familiar with that strategy he was prepared to dodge the attack, though, Magby didn't attack, instead he smirked menacingly at Shroomish and started buildingup fire in his mouth, scaring the grass type with it. Once Shroomish had closed his eyes, Magby took the chance to attack, this time succesfully hitting Shroomish. Caesar smiled, it seemed he ha finally understood the deceptive part of the move. "ok, let's try now with Teddiursa" the trainer called, he knew that using anotehr grass type, would only end up in Magby using the same strategy to land an attack, but he wanted the pokemon to learn how to use the move effectively on every pokemon type. Teddiursa took his position and after Cesar's call, Magby tried a similar strategy, he tried to attack Teddiursa with a Mach Punch to distract him and use Feint Attack, but this time, he was unsuccesful. Maybe it was because Teddiursa was more familair with the move, but it was clear Magby still had some more practice before he could safely say he had mastered the move.

What? Did the Alakazam just- Did-did that just happen?! He was confused and scared at the same time. The pokemon he has beaten never turned to dust, they just faint. Actually, what happens when they faint? He thought that fainted pokemon were, like, teleported and healed then sent back. What he didn't know was, they become easy prey for larger pokemon and probably prize for poachers and hunters. Was he killing pokemon all this time?

"...", he was silent as he stared into his sneakers. He could've cried right there and make more of a scene if his Scyther didn't konk him in the back of his head. Ey? Zyllo usually cuts his trainer, why did he just hit him? The boy looked up to the Scyther and saw it give a salute to the creature once called Alakazam. Yeah, instead of crying he should just accept it. It is nature's way of telling us we'll become stronger. Before he recalled his Scyther, he gave a salute to the creature mumbling "'Till we meet again" under his breath.

After recalling the big mantis, Zell popped out nowhere. It stared into its trainer with sad eyes. It must have seen what happened. Jamie smiled and walked towards the exit saying to his pokemon "Its for the best." The pokemon was confused at that statement. What did he mean for the best?

As they exited the zoo, a gust of wind blew at his scarf, sounding the bells at the end of it. Ah. The cold, metropolitan air. LEt's see what to do now. The Gym? No, he's heard the gym leader's good with status moves and he has no antidotes or whatever. How about just explore the upper side of Rustboro. For old time's sake.

He walked through the maze that is called a city and on to the northern end of Rustboro. It took longer than he thought. The bustling city that never sleeps. It has always been this crowded, though it has been more wild lately. Ever since the zoos and other have been created, Rustboro is wilder than the old times. Now he sounds old. Let's stop saying "old times"

Finally, route 116. it was a nice change of scenery from metropolitan lights to serene, green fields. Though not so serene as there are people battling here. He took his first step- OW! And he fell. He tripped on something or someone?

Event?

The zoo was now forced to close after the day's explosive incidents. Policemen and firefighters were everywhere trying to evacuate the staff and guests for their own safety. For a brief moment, Jamie was interviewed by the park warden but that passed as the interest was not him moreso how and why the Alakazam escaped. Outside, the low hum of energy being produced by the giant feather resonated in dull vibrations giving the town, day now receding to night, an almost overly urban vibe.

There wasn't much going on in the town anymore given that night was approaching. A few of the taller buildings still had lights on where workaholics were busying away. The main interest with everyone at the moment was the casual twilight atmosphere soon approaching. The coffee shops would be in full swing and the young people would take over the streets. Rustboro seemed to be completely transformed.

The only Pokemon activity were native city dwellers such as the flocks of Pidove and Murkrow, an occasional Zubat fluttering about a streetlamp for food and of course the over amount of Glameow and Meowth rummaging through trashcans for food and shiny things. The city was so relaxed that a Grimer could pop out and no one would care. However, the night would not prove all quiet for Jamie and his crew. There was a girl walking the streets of the nightlife seemingly out of place against the bohemian atmosphere. She wore a lab coat adorned with floral patterns and in tote was a larger than life Musharna. She seemed mysterious and rightly so, she was apart of a new group that had recently formed. Almost like a gang, they members were addicted to dreaming and so many had Pokemon that knew Hypnosis. Only the best however had Musharna in tow where they could escape to a completely controllable reality.

She noticed Jamie and casually approached him. "Ello, kiddy." Despite her clean appearance, she sounded a bit gruff. "Did you wanna join me and a few for a bit of a Dream session?" She was inviting him to come to a gathering of Dreamers.

(I was trying to take a unique turn and make it sort of like a drug addiction sort of deal you know? did it work?)

Kismet

The boy seemed perplexed about her question though the Pokemon was indeed rare. "It's a new species called Pumpkaboo. We don't know much about it other than that it can evolve and is Ghost/Grass type." He pressed his glasses to his face a little trying to show off it seemed. "I work with a local lab here in trying to figure out the extent of its abilities and study it. Would you like to battle?" His attention was tuned in on the Torchic in front of him. The gleam of his eye revealed that he showed a big interest in the tiny rare chicken though its behavior made him question if it was really all that powerful.

"I'm going to let Pumpkaboo do what it wants. I need to study it somehow after all." He turned to the alien creature. "It's all you," he said waving his arm to signal it to start. The Pumpkaboo made a strange screechy sound as if to concur and positioned itself on the other side of the field. The ghoul didn't even wait for a "Begin!" before spinning violently into a shadowy form and sinking into the ground. It was still visible but using Shadow Sneak, it was but a dark blur on the floor speeding towards the Torchic at incredible velocity.

Clef

Someone had, unbeknownst to Fauna, taken quite an interest in the girl and her Pokemon. The boy casually walked in front of Fauna trying to get her attention. "Do I know you from somewhere?" It was a poor excuse to get her attention but he hoped it would manage to get her to look up and notice him.

He wore a well tailored dress shirt covered by a silk vest of blue. His dark, almost black eyes seemed to envelope anyone that looked into them and his smile portrayed a welcoming romance. He had his hands in his pockets taking out his pocket watch briefly to check the time and then swipe his charcoal surfer hair to one side. He was tall and thinly built having to look down at Fauna.

"Fallabar at your service." he bowed and smiled letting his hair fall over his face and extending one are out to his side. Closer inspection showed that he was lightly freckled on his face giving his face a crinkling smile effect. It was quite cute or rather to him, SHE was cute.

"The only reason you beat her was because of all the battles she endured today." She said it mockingly. Manta didn't like her tone, but her pokemon did fall rather quickly. Was ditto really that strong? He knew ditto was special. After all, he came from the crystal pokeball that the professor held in high esteem. He couldn't be distracted now. He didn't know how long his hold in that form would last. It was different when he transformed into aipom, the two where constantly touching. He had to be careful. "Let's see..." Venema fingering the Pokeballs around her belt. Her nails made a terrible screeching noise, even peeling the paint off of a couple. "What do you feel like? Paralysis? Oh how about a little frostbite?" Manta couldn't stand her attituve. She was just doing thins to frustrate him and it was working.

Manta signaled to Ditto to call him over. He quickly put on his hood that had been knacked off by the wind. "Mind if we fight fire with fire? Or can't you take it?" The boy scoffed at the older woman, trying to use the gym leader's words against her. He had a lump in his through, because he knew something bad would happen.

"Huh?" Fauna asked out loud when a boy approached her. She quickly recuperated from the confusion and then smiled at the boy.
"I don't believe we've met before... I'm Fauna." She said in her normal quiet voice. She kept a bit of a distance from the boy, as she didn't have much experience meeting new trainers, and the ones she met before all challenged her to a battle before they could really converse. She noticed his clothes. They were very nice but didn't seem very comfortable for travelling. Maybe he was living in Rustboro?

When the boy began to smile at her, she got a strange feeling. Fauna never had a boyfriend or anything, but if she could put her finger on it this is what flirting was. She giggled rather loudly at the thought of a boy liking her and had to quickly cover her mouth to stop. The girl turned red from embarrassment, but fought it off and returned to conversation.

"Do you happen to know if the Rusturf tunnel is open?" She asked. Being from Verdanturf town she had tot ravel to Littleroot for her starter pokemon, but the tunnel was closed at the time and she had to go the long way around.

The male furrowed his brow, trying to figure this Pumkaboo out. "Grass and Ghost? A dead Vegetable?" He pondered, his Torchic flailing about in a worried state, as her foe had dissipated. "Torchic! Shoot embers at the shadow!" He called out, and the fiery chicken flapped frantically, shooting bolts of fire at the shadowy mass that continued to rush her. Ventus was trying to think tactically, maybe they could slow down the shadow by burning it? The logic was not at all there. What was he thinking? "Leafie! Don't just stand there, Run around." He commandeered, and folded his arms. The fire type pokemon gave her trainer a strange look, before nodding and started to run around in a long, wide circle.

Caesar watched how Magby practiced the move against Teddiursa, each time it was getting harder and harder for the small bear to dodge the attacks "well done Magby, you almost get it" encouraged the trainer. Magby smiled, he was getting excited at finally mastering this move that had gotten so much time to learn. After Caesar spoke with him, Magby tried it again, this time, being able to completely fool Teddiursa and landing a hit succesfully. Both Caesar and Magby smiled, Teddiursa... not so much, being hit by a Feint Attack hurt, more than he expected.

Caesar called both pokemon and gave them a couple berries so they would recover after so much training. While Teddiursa rubbed his back the best he could, Magby ate his berry happily. Once they were done, and after some time of relaxation, Caesar asked Magby and Teddiursa to try the moveonce more, just to be sure. Magby nodded excited while Teddiursa only moved to his previous position. "now Magby, use Feint Attack" the trainer called. Magby nodded and started a small chat with Teddiursa who confused, stood alert, Magby noticed it was not working and diverted Teddiursa's attention by pointing at a Meowth digging inside a trashcan. As the ebar turned to the cat, Magby took his chance and dashed to him landing a hit succesfully, though, he didn't use his whole force, his trainer only wanted to make sure he mastered the move, not hurting Teddiursa. After getting hit, the bear rolled a couple feet, landing on his butt. Shaking his head, Teddiursa stood up again, turning to Magby he smiled, now hecould say he was proud Magby had finally managed to master the move.

Caesar smiled and after congratulating Magby and thanking Teddiursa for all the help he provided, he returned them both to their pokeballs. The boy turned around to check on Linda and her pokemon, but apparently she had left, probably a while ago without him noticing. The boy shrugged not sure where would have the girl gone, but if she left, maybe she had something to do. Taking his backpack to his shoulder, he decided to take a look at the city, after all, he had not been in Rustboroin a while and even when he first visited it, he didn't spent much time exploring it, better take this chance.

Event maybe?

Lyra slowly awoke from her nap and looked around drowsily. Dewey was still resting on her lap, fast asleep. The nurse obviously had decided not to disturb her rest and allowed her to stay the night. She looked around, no other trainers aside from a guy at the counter with a hood on seemed to be present. He had a larger Pokemon next to him that reached up to roughly his waist, possibly a bit higher. It was hard to tell considering the rocky shape of it was higher at some points than other. Lyra pulled out her Pokedex and scanned it, curious as to what it could possibly be. The Pokedex process the data and gave a long response.

Graveler is a living, bipedal boulder. It has a rocky crest about its small eyes. It has four arms, each with a three-fingered hand. Despite having legs, it can revert to a legless form. This grants it the ability to float.
Its preferred locomotion is rolling, specifically because it is a slow walker. It often rolls down mountain paths at high speeds, crushing objects in the way and stopping by running into huge rocks. If it breaks or shatters, it has the ability to restore itself overtime. Graveler climbs a mountain from base to summit, feasting on rocks all the while. Upon reaching the peak, Graveler rolls down to the bottom. Graveler can be often found on mountain trails or in caves.

Lyra took note of the name of the large boulder. After reading, she could pick out the multiple features that were mentioned. The rocky crest, the four arms with three fingers, and even the small feet that lie beneath. The trainer was handed a Pokeball by the clerk and began walking out. He kept his head down, almost trying to hide his identity. The Graveler turned around and made quick eye contact with Lyra, grunted, then tucked its feet in and rolled after its trainer. The two exited almost as quickly as she noticed them. Graveler's rolling sounds of rock on tile woke Dewey, causing him to let out a small sigh. Lyra stood up, placing Dewey in her bag, the front half hanging out of the messenger. She spoke to the clerk, "So, how's that Pokemon doing? Do you think it can leave yet?".
