The Apokélypse: Plot
"It was the year 2012 when it began: natural disasters occurred more and more frequently, the Great Famine and new upcoming diseases caused the deaths of millions of people and pokémon. No one knew how it started, it just began some day. A day when black clouds gathered in the sky through which the sun could barely shine its brilliant light, a day that was kept in twilight. I have not seen the sun since that day, nor have I felt its warm glow on my face. It is now 2029 and less than a fifth of Earth's original population is left. I fear that in another decade, Earth is but a cold, lifeless, rotten stone. We cannot let that happen, we have to act. We should have acted a long time ago, but fear was in our hearts and division in our minds. But I will not fear now, I will not let division keep me from uniting in order to save all. We have to be brave. We have to.

I’m Jonathan Black and I call upon all who are courageous enough to go with me on this quest. A quest to find the source and the cure of this eternal twilight, the many disasters, the diseases that killed our loved ones. The world is in Chaos: Mankind does not trust each other anymore, Pokémon are wild creatures nowadays, either used for food or labor, or are seen as uncontrollable beasts that we must fear. The only rule that counts is the rule of the strongest. There is a whole generation that has never seen the sunlight. It will be tough, it may even be impossible, but we will cross the land, the sea, the mountains and everything else we need to overcome in order to find a way to wake the legendary Arceus, the God who created the universe. The awakening of Arceus… is what will save us."

Hiii everyone ^^ I hope you like what you’ve read until know. I’m not a native English speaker, so there may be some obvious mistakes, but I hope that won’t be a problem to any of you. I have quite some RP experience though, albeit in a different language. As you’ve read already, this is a Apokalypse themed Pokémon RP, meaning that you will be able to catch Pokémon and such, but that it very plot centered and maybe somewhat different than what you’re used to. All RP’ers will go together in one group, so you cannot journey alone. Also there are no gym battles.
My OC is Jonathan, the group’s leader. I will make a profile about him later, but in the spoiler you can see what he looks like. He will act as a plot pusher and revealer. He’s 39 btw, so after he was a teenager going on a Pokémon journey the day of Twilight came. I will control all other NPC’s, such as enemies to battle, other persons needed for plots, wild Pokémon and legendaries. I’m in charge as to which Pokémon you encounter, and which you will catch, very much like any other RP ;)

Personality: It surely doesn’t have to be an 500 word essay, but please try to make it a bit more elaborate than “She’s very kind to others, but says anything without thinking. She likes to laugh a lot.”
appearance: Detailed description or image, whichever you prefer. Again, in case of a description, try to make it more elaborate than “Very pale with black hair and blue eyes, with dark jeans and a Linkin Park T-shirt.”
History: Try incorporating all that has happened since 2012 ;) Can be as long or brief as you like it to be.

I’m terribly sorry I have to say that, (I’m really not that strict), I have only expelled someone once in my RP history, but when someone is keeping the RP from being fun by disrespectful behavior or alike I feel like I have no choice. We’re all doing it for fun, let’s not ruin that ;)
~ More a word of advice than a rule: Don't take anything that is said by my OC's in the RP seriously. For example: If Jonathan doesn't like you're character's name, has nothing to do whether I like your characters name. If you think an OC is behaving like a jerk (like Jonathan's habit of nicknaming people) or is regurarly doing something you don't like, use your own OC to tell the other OC ;) If I made all my OC's to have the same morals, opinions and character quirks as I do, it would be boring, wouldn't it? ^^

~ You will be able to choose your starter Pokémon from three Pokémon that Jonathan chooses for you (in other words, that are randomly generated by me). If you don’t like your choices, you can pick to have another randomly generated batch, but this one will only contain two Pokémon and is final.
~ Pokémon and humans are no longer easily befriended, as the desperate state Earth is in makes everyone distrust everyone. You can catch wild Pokémon the old school way though, with one of the pokeballs you receive from Jonathan, just remember that they don’t immediately like you after you’ve caught them ;)
~ Wild Pokémon are randomly generated also, but of course you can’t find a magicarp in a place with no water ;) I will give you a random encounter when I see fit. Whether you catch it will depend on the catching changes stated on bulbapedia and my dices xD
~ Legendaries play a very important role in this RP, so I’ll be the one in charge of them ;) I haven’t decided yet whether you’ll be able to catch them later on. I don’t think you’ll be able to catch them, but rather befriend them and call for their help if needed… I don’t know, please give me some advice on this one :(
~ There are no levels. Just use your common sense when using attacks :)
~ You can evolve your Pokémon, again just use common sense. It’s very useful. Or ask it here, if you want the opinion of others.
~ Shinies. We all love them. When I make a shiny appear, which will be very, very unusual, the first one or two to respond have a change of getting it, instead that it is "meant to be" for someone. If there are two, you’ll have to make you’re OCs battle it out who gets it ;P Or it could just flee… Shinies are also obtainable throughout plot events. Also starters will be hard to get, but not impossible to encounter, also through plot events.
~ We will be traveling through an fictive region that has pokémon from all usual regions in it, however, it will be bigger than the usual pokémon region. I am working on a map that I will upload as soon as it gets finished.
~ The rule of the strongest is absolute. Everyone is your enemy. No one trusts anyone. I can’t stress this enough. The world is barren, rotten and in chaos.



I think that covers it. Oh yeah, last but not least, try to stay active. I understand you have a life, I also happen to have one, but no one likes to see their RP be quiet for a week. Or longer D: I will make the RP thread tomorrow :)
O, yeah, If you guys have any ideas for the names of the first day of Twilight, the time that followed after that day, or the region I’d like to hear them very much xD

Names 'n stuff

Enya - The name of the region this RP takes place in. Pokémon of all other regions can be found here, because it has many different micro-climates scattered acros its land.
the Day of Twilight - 21th of december 2012, the first day of the Age of Darkness. Before the sun had risen, dark clouds had gathered in the sky which prevented the sunlight from shining down on Earth. It is very much like when there's a terrible storm coming: it is dark and you cannot see the sun, but it is not completely pitch black.
The Age of Darkness - The time that followed after the Day of Twilight. The dark clouds move just like normal clouds, but whenever old clouds go new ones take their place. It's like a never ending layer of clouds that forever keeps the Earth stuck in darkness. It is said that there are a few places left where the sun occasionaly breaks through. (credits for the name go to mdf ^^)
The Great Famine - A famine caused by the lack of plant growth during the Age of Darkness. It is estimated that half of earth original population died because of the Great Famine.
The Brotherhood - A movement trying to unite the remaining pokémon and humans and tries to find the cause and the cure for the Age of Darkness. They believe that Arceus will be our savior. Members are scattered around all regions, but are very few in numbers. Most people are scared of them, because they fight alongside feared pokémon and it is thought that they seek power only. Jonathan and Watson are part of the Rebellion.


NPC's / my OC's

William "Watson" Engström
With his extremely blond hair and freckled skin William does honor to his scandinavian roots, but the vikings would be ashamed of him. He is a bit of a scared chicken and has terrible OCD, which is not something that should have priority in the current times. He's frightened very easily, something Jonathan likes to take adventage of. Although it may seem that Jonathan picks on him a lot, they are really good friends. William, dubbed Watson by Jonathan, got his own starter pokémon together with Jonathan and Livia and they used to be rivals. He really is a nice guy that you won't get angry, but he's also a bit shy and passive. Although he may be clumsy, he's actually really clever, and Jonathan admitted that he had never won a game of chess against him. He also used to have a crush on Livia when they were younger. Watson is 38 years old.

Watson is now in charge of the box system, provision and gathering of information for Jonathan and the group and the communication between the divisions of the Brotherhood in all different regions. His reasons for joining the Brotherhood are unclear.

Name: Jackson Alexander Gray
Age: 16 years old
Gender: Male
Personality: He bottles up his feelings inside, and it hurts him. He likes to keep an optimistic front, but inside he is sometimes in deep pain, tormented by his memories. Jackson is naturally curious and intelligent, and he really is interested in becoming friends with Pokemon, a thought that both his parents are outraged by (because they claim that Pokemon have changed and become feral and are not the same as before).
Appearance:
History: He was born one year after 2012, so he does not remember anything that was before the Great Famine and the Age of Darkness (my idea for name, can be changed later). He has grown up in this changed community feeling as if this was normal, because he never knew anything used to be different, until he learned at school. He is a smart kid but did not enjoy school, where he was often tormented by his peers. Jackson wished he could have been born back before the Great Famine began, back before 2012, so he could have been a Master Coordinator, a subject he was always excited about at school. He is also a gay teen, which ironically, even after the world had ended (essentially) many people still were insecure about (damn 'phobes, lol) so he got teased a lot. Now, Jackson wants to go out on his own to discover the world outside for himself.

Name: Erick Seas
Age: 17 Years Old
Gender: Male
Personality: Erick likes to try to make the most out of things. But being an Optimist hasn't been much help to the other pessimists around him since 2012. But when he's alone, he can seem somewhat depressive since he lost his parents a long time ago. He can also often seem a little timid at times. The only time he can feel joyful is when he is around others who hope that this disaster will end soon and around other optimists. When confronting any pessimist, he tends to act rash and hotheaded about whatever situation there might be ahead.
Appearance: With his Smooth Black hair and his green eyes, he could seem like your ordinary Joe. Erick's hair has a small clump of hair on his right side of his head that sticks out and for some reason he can't get it to stay down. He wears Black Square glasses with a frame that shines in the light. He is often wearing a cotton and blue hoodie which he favors the most. His only strange facial feature is the scar across his face. He always wears a golden sun-shaped locket around his skinny neck.
History: As an infant, he was somehow separated from his parents. He was found by an orphange and has been living his days out there. The lady who found him, however found a locket the shape of a Sun. Inside was the name engraved "Erick Seas", hence his name. He grew up around a bunch of strange kids who also lived in the orphange. He didn't have any friends, and everyone seemed to call him a weirdo. At the Orphanage, when a child turns 18, they are allowed to leave. Erick has high hopes that he will be able to leave soon and attempt to find his long-lost parents.

Gender: Male
Personality: Closed up inside himself is how you would describe him. He can be manic-depressive at times. He has a sense of compassion though but is not a great friend-maker so to speak. He is actually much of an antisocial anarchist, only friendly to his own pokémon. He’s actually quite overprotective of his pokémon.
Appearance:
History: Has run away from home, and decided he needs a starter from Jonathan to survive.

Okay, I'll do that then ;D And if you get any of those three you can still choose from the other random 2, or just ask for a whole new randomized batch. If you do so, that batch only contains 2 random pokémon to pick from, but one if these two will also be of your favored "type" ;)

Mijaafa. I have a question. This has troubled my mind for long. (I always ponder about strange things ) What language did you use to Rp in?

Haha xD I'm natively Dutch, so it was a dutch RP forum where I first came across RP'ing. I stayed there for a couple of years, doing all kinds of roleplays, but for some weird reason they decided to shut it down :( After that I have never founded a good replacement, probably because only about 23 million people world wide speak Dutch, and RP'ing isn't that well known popular in the areas it is spoken.

Also, Danny, sorry I can't do your starters, it just takes me a lot of time to type those RP comments ( I really have to think about what I write, it's annoying XD), but I really have to go now :( I'll do them tomorrow! ^^

Yep it is....I've seen episodes 1-13 now, and can't wait to get a hold of 14-26, plus I really want to read the manga....plus, the live action show and movie sound good too....my favorite character is Honey, but none of the Pokemon sounded like him...I think Honey would be like a Teddiursa/Minccino, the twins would be something like Minun and Plusle, Ous-chan would be a Buneary, Beezelnef (or however you spell it) would be Purrloin or Glameow.....Idk about the others, though....I think my whole team will be themed after Ouran, I love them so much....my favorite pairing is twincest and HoneyXMore, btw....

Haha, ok. I just rewatched the series a couple of weeks ago. It's just so incredibly funny xD Idk, I think Minccino is very good for Honey, but Emolga seems nice too. Its cute and I can see Emolga devour lots and lots of cake xD My favorites are the twins, actually. The pichu brothers from a short pokémon movie remind me of them, actually :P Ous-chan would indeed be a Bunaery and I think Kyoya would be Snivy I've never seen the live action movie or show, I've read some of the manga though. I think the anime is more fun though, because of the colours ;) I don't really have a favorite pairing, I like HoneyxMori though.

I think I'll pick Rotom. Although I feel bad about not picking Mumble and Hannibal, but that's okay XD
